The Spread Eagle Chesterfield

we had a really enjoyable stay at the spread eagle. our check-in was smooth, and the staff were wonderfully friendly throughout our time there. the room was basic yet clean and quieter than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. with the warm weather, having a fan available was a nice touch. we appreciated the breakfast items left in the room and found the nearby café recommended by the staff very helpful for when we wanted something heartier.

I find it a nice little and exceptionally friendly place to stay.

The hotel was located just next door to a nearby supermarket, a lovely Italian restaurant and a cocktail bar plus the shops during the day and the centre of Chesterfield. The location was fantastic in the heart of the town. Also, the venue was not too far away from Tapton Park Golf Club. It was as expected, had a special stay for one night.

The room featured a huge bed that was comfortable, ensuring restful nights. The overall ambiance was enhanced by the excellent amenities, making it a perfect retreat.

this was a small issue in an otherwise wonderful experience.

My partner and I enjoyed a romantic escape at this hotel and loved the location-right in the heart of the town! The room was super cute, clean, and had a lovely walk-in shower. We appreciated the extra touches like croissants and juice in our room, which made for a nice start to our mornings!

But, wow, the steep and narrow stairs were a serious workout! Not great for our bags or anyone with a mobility issue. Plus, we had a hiccup with the hot water on arrival, and the towel rail didn’t work. It would've been nice to have more assistance or info on breakfast options nearby!

My recent trip to Chesterfield was centered around visiting the beautiful Holy Trinity Church, which I had eagerly anticipated. I chose to stay at the Spread Eagle primarily for its convenient location, just a short stroll to the church. To my delight, I discovered that they also offer excellent parking facilities at the rear, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The highlight was the delicious breakfast featuring freshly prepared dishes made from the finest local Derbyshire produce. I particularly enjoyed the hearty pub classics – a perfect way to start my day!

We enjoyed a good stay at the Spread Eagle, especially appreciating the lovely breakfast basket in our room. The location was fantastic, and our room wasnice and neat. I'd recommend this hotel.

Consider keeping the bathroom door open while bathing to prevent any musty smells lingering in the air.

Really liked the spacious room, it was super clean and had a comfy bed. The staff were friendly and super helpful. Loved the little breakfast basket they left us with goodies, such a nice touch! Location was spot on, just a few steps from the center of town.

Only bummer was the smell in the bathroom when the door was closed, kinda musty. The stairs to the rooms were a bit steep for some folks.

Really good Stay with Nice Dining Experience

We spent an lovely night in a beautifully appointed Beautiful Double Room. The restaurant was so good with a good menu, and the staff provided friendly, attentive service. Don't miss the local specialties. They capture the essence of Chesterfield!

The bed was comfortable and ensured a restful sleep. A pleasant surprise was the continental breakfast left for me. The location was excellent, just a short walk from local attractions. Definitely a great choice 😊

The Spread Eagle Chesterfield boasts a lovely bar and beer garden, ideal for relaxation. The room was comfortable and impeccably clean. The staff were cute.

Steep stairs may pose difficulties for elderly guests.

The Beautiful Double Room offered decent space for a solo traveler, complete with a selection of pastries and bottled water. The location, although not central, has a small café just down the street for a quick coffee.

The lack of air conditioning left the room feeling stuffy, especially with just a fan to cool things down. Checking in at the bar wasn't the most inviting experience, and the universal key system felt a bit unsafe. Unfortunately, the shower head looked in dire need of a scrubbing, a letdown given the nicer room features. Plus, the cleanliness left something to be desired. The carpets had noticeable stains, and the towel had an unsettling mark. With no food made available and the nearby options closing early, dinner was a bit of a disappointment.

Visiting the historic cobbled streets of Chesterfield was a real highlight. We explored the market and admired the famous Crooked Spire. Our family room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast tray was a good touch, made our mornings even nicer.

My wife says that a larger dining area would be great for families, as we struggled a bit with meal options .
